addition to the Fire Brigade.)

(4). New Saiyingpun School. The same remarks apply. (5). New Queen's College. The present site of the College is becoming impossible for an educational

establishment owing to the growing congestion of the

neighbourhood. An excellent new site is being prepared.

The work should be completed as soon as possible. I

consider that this also should be regarded as a loan work.

There will be considerable receipts from the sale of the

old site not its full value as much of it will have to be

sacrificed for new streets and these should be devoted

-

-

to paying off Treasury Bills as suggested above.

(6). I should include this under the general head of

quarters, discussed under (1) above.

(7). Reinstatement of Kennedy Town Police Station. Not

urgent. A small work such as should naturally be provided

from revenue.

(8). Reconstruction of Saiyingpun Market. Necessary in

the near future. It will bring in some return from

increased stall fees. Should, I think, be regarded as a

'revenue' work.

(9). New Infectious Diseases Hospital. The Principal

Civil Medical Officer presses for this. Personally I am

not satisfied as to the necessity but it would certainly

be a convenience. It is not in my opinion a matter of

urgency and I consider that the cost should be kept as low

as possible and provided from revenue as funds permit.

(10). New Government Offices alterations. Essential

to accommodate the growing requirements of the Post Office

and Treasury and for a new Wireless Office.

(11). Rebuilding of No.8 Police Station. An essential

work owing to the growth of the district. Already well advanced.

(12).
